NIA Arrests Two Key Accused in Chhattisgarh Arms Supply Case

In a significant development in the Chhattisgarh arms supply case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two more individuals. Sudhir Tripathi and Suraj Nishad, both from Prayagraj district in Uttar Pradesh, were apprehended for their involvement in supplying arms and ammunition to Naxal cadres. This brings the total number of arrests in the case to six.

The case initially saw four arrests in January last year when local police seized arms and ammunition. The NIA took over the investigation in January this year and discovered that Sudhir and Suraj were actively involved in transporting arms from Uttar Pradesh to the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. The NIA stated that the duo was in regular contact and conspired to support the banned terrorist group.
