In Nowgam, Srinagar, Iltija Mufti, the Media Advisor to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti, has accused the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) workers of assaulting PDP members. She stated that there is evidence of these attacks and criticized the JKNC for labeling PDP workers as militants. Iltija Mufti emphasized that the PDP will seek accountability for these actions.

Expectations from the New Government

Iltija Mufti highlighted that the people of Jammu and Kashmir voted in large numbers and now expect the NC-Congress alliance to fulfill their promises. She expressed hope for the formation of a new government soon and extended her best wishes.

Election Results

The JKNC recently elected Omar Abdullah as the leader of its Legislative Party. In the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, the BJP won 29 seats, while the PDP secured three seats. The National Conference received 23.43% of the vote share, and the Congress got 11.97%. This election was the first since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.
