In a heartbreaking incident during the Durga Puja celebrations, four young lives were lost in a road accident in the Sonakhuli area of Dhubri, Assam. The accident took place on Friday when a speeding vehicle hit the children standing by National Highway 17. The vehicle was traveling from Coochbehar to Dhubri.

Victims of the Accident

The children who tragically lost their lives have been identified as Maryam Khatun, aged 10, Zubair Hussain, aged 7, Mehdi Hassan, aged 5, and a 40-day-old infant named Abu Rihan. The infant succumbed to injuries while being taken to Dhubri Medical College.

Driver Apprehended

The driver of the vehicle, Bishal Agarwal, a resident of Dhubri, has been apprehended by the police along with his car. Eyewitnesses reported the vehicle’s high speed as it struck the children.
