Sunil Bharti Mittal, the founder of Bharti Enterprises, expressed his sorrow over the passing of Ratan Tata, a veteran industrialist. Mittal highlighted Tata’s significant impact on Indian industry and philanthropy, describing him as a nation-builder who inspired many. He extended condolences to the Tata family on behalf of Bharti Enterprises.

Former Tata Sons CEO, Minoo Mody, also paid tribute, noting Tata’s empathy and effective use of charity funds. Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman of Balaji Infra Projects Limited, remembered Tata as a visionary and philanthropist, appealing for him to be awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor.

Ratan Tata, born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, was a prominent figure in Indian industry, serving as Chairman of Tata Sons and leading major philanthropic trusts. He was previously honored with the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal paid their respects at Mumbai’s National Centre for Performing Arts, where the public could also pay tribute. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that Tata’s last rites would be conducted with full state honors.
