Tributes Paid to Ratan Tata at NCPA Mumbai

On Thursday, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, along with his uncle and Nationalist Congress Party Chief Sharad Pawar, paid their last respects to the renowned industrialist Ratan Tata at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) lawns in Mumbai. Other notable figures such as NCP-SCP leader Supriya Sule and NCP working president Praful Patel also attended the tribute.

According to Tata Trust, Ratan Tata’s final journey will commence at 4 pm from NCPA Lawns, heading to the Prayer Hall at the Worli Crematorium for the final rites. The public is advised to enter through Gate 3 and exit via Gate 2, with no parking available on the premises.

Ratan Tata, who passed away at the age of 86 at Breach Candy Hospital, was a significant figure in India’s industrial development. Congress state president Nana Patole described him as an ‘Anmol Ratan’ to the nation, acknowledging his contributions to the country’s growth.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that Tata’s last rites will be conducted with full state honors, and a day of mourning has been declared. The national flag will be at half-mast on all government buildings, and no cultural or entertainment programs will be held.

Ratan Tata, born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, was the Chairman of Tata Sons and was honored with the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. His passing has been mourned by leaders across the nation, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
