Amritsar Police’s Major Drug Bust
In a significant operation, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police seized 5 kilograms of heroin and Rs 3.95 lakh in drug money from Ajnala, Punjab. This operation, based on intelligence, led to the arrest of three individuals and the filing of an FIR under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. On October 8, Jalandhar Rural Police dismantled an interstate arms smuggling gang, arresting its leader and seizing five pistols. Earlier, on October 7, Moga Police disrupted an illegal arms module linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, arresting seven operatives and recovering five pistols and ammunition. On October 5, the Anti Gangster Task Force, in collaboration with Bathinda Police, captured Jaspreet Singh, the leader of the Jassa Burj Gang, along with three associates. They were involved in various crimes, including arms smuggling and kidnapping, with several criminal cases already registered against them.
