Amritsar Police’s Major Drug Bust

In a significant operation, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police seized 5 kilograms of heroin and Rs 3.95 lakh in drug money from Ajnala, Punjab. This operation, based on technical intelligence, led to the arrest of three individuals. An FIR was filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and further investigations are ongoing to trace the drug network’s connections.

The Director General of Police (DGP) of Punjab highlighted the success of the operation on social media, emphasizing the police’s dedication to dismantling drug networks and making Punjab drug-free.

In related efforts, the Jalandhar Rural Police recently dismantled an interstate arms smuggling gang, arresting its leader and seizing five pistols. Additionally, the Moga Police disrupted an illegal arms module linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, arresting seven operatives and recovering weapons. The Anti Gangster Task Force, in collaboration with Bathinda Police, also apprehended Jaspreet Singh, a notorious gang leader, along with his associates, recovering firearms and ammunition.
