Tarun Chugh Highlights Growing Support for PM Modi

In the recent assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieved a significant milestone by winning 29 seats, surpassing its previous record of 25 seats in 2014. BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh attributed this success to the increasing confidence of the people in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and vision for long-term development in the region.

According to the Election Commission of India, BJP secured a 25.64% vote share, translating to 14.62 lakh votes, which is 1.4 lakh more than the National Conference’s 13.36 lakh votes. Chugh expressed gratitude to the voters for their trust and assured them of BJP’s commitment to a prosperous and peaceful future for Jammu and Kashmir.

Despite claims from the National Conference that BJP was rejected for communal politics, Chugh emphasized that the increased vote count is a testament to the people’s belief in BJP’s policies of unity and progress. The National Conference-Congress alliance, however, secured an absolute majority with 49 seats, while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) won 1 seat. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led by Mehbooba Mufti won 3 seats, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) marked its presence with Sajad Gani Lone winning from the Handwara constituency.
