Haryana Election Predictions: BJP vs Congress
In New Delhi, Syed Zafar Islam, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana, expressed confidence in the party’s victory, predicting a third consecutive win. He attributed this confidence to the strong support from the people. Islam stated, “The inputs have indicated that we are going that it will be a hatrick for us. We are very confident and this is because the people have supported us so much.”
On the other hand, Aditya Surjewala, a Congress candidate from Kaithal, Haryana, predicted a different outcome. He claimed that the BJP would not win more than 15 seats, while Congress would secure around 60 seats, based on exit polls and initial counting. Surjewala emphasized the Congress’s commitment to fulfilling promises and criticized the BJP for rising inflation and governance issues. He stated, “We will win around 60 seats and BJP will come down to 15 seats, no other party will win any other seats. We have kept 7 promises and it has touched the hearts of people.”
Surjewala further criticized the BJP government, describing it as corrupt and divisive, and expressed the public’s desire for change after a decade under BJP rule. He accused the BJP of operating like a “40% commission government” and spreading “Gunda raj” through extortion calls.
