A significant incident took place in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, when stones were thrown at a Goddess Durga idol during its transportation for installation. The idol was damaged, leading to road blockages and slogan shouting by a group of people.

Police Action

The police have detained 10 individuals in connection with the incident. Additional District Magistrate P.K. Rai and Additional Superintendent of Police Ritesh Kumar Singh were present at the scene to manage the situation. ADM P.K. Rai stated, “The idol was being transported for installation when some individuals threw stones at it. An investigation is underway, and those responsible will be punished.”

Eyewitness Account

According to eyewitness Vishal Chauhan, the stone-pelting occurred while music was being played during the procession, resulting in the idol’s damage. “We were playing music when stones were thrown at us, and the idol was damaged,” he said.
