Maldives First Lady Sajidha Mohamed Visits FSSAI Headquarters
On October 7, Maldives First Lady Sajidha Mohamed visited the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) headquarters in New Delhi. She praised FSSAI’s initiatives on food safety. The visit was part of a meeting organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

During her visit, Sajidha Mohamed interacted with India’s contact point for the Codex Alimentarius Commission, discussing food safety standards and regulatory frameworks. She learned about FSSAI’s laboratory ecosystems that ensure high food safety standards in India. She expressed interest in collaborating with India to improve the Maldives’ food safety standards.
Food Safety on Wheels Initiative
FSSAI showcased its ‘Food Safety on Wheels’ initiative, a mobile food testing laboratory that conducts on-the-spot food safety tests and raises awareness across the country. The First Lady admired this initiative and praised FSSAI’s grassroots efforts.
Visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan
Earlier, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed at Rashtrapati Bhavan. They paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, where President Muizzu signed the visitors’ book. This visit marks Muizzu’s second trip to India this year.
