India and Argentina Strengthen Ties
On October 7, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar of India met with Argentine Foreign Minister Diana Mondino in New Delhi. The meeting aimed to enhance trade and investment between the two nations. Jaishankar described the meeting as ‘fruitful’ and emphasized the potential for collaboration in sectors like energy, minerals, health, agri-tech, defense, and technology.
Mondino’s visit, from October 5 to 9, includes meetings with various Indian ministers and participation in a business event organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry. She will also engage with the Observer Research Foundation, a prominent think tank.
India and Argentina have a long-standing relationship based on mutual respect and shared values. Their diplomatic relations were elevated to a strategic partnership in 2019, and they celebrated 75 years of diplomatic ties in February 2024.
