On Monday, a significant meeting took place at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, focusing on anti-Naxal operations and development projects in Naxal-affected states. The meeting was chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, along with Chief Ministers from eight Naxal-affected states.

Anti-Naxal Operations

The discussion highlighted the successful completion of an anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh, where the state police neutralized 31 Naxals. Amit Shah praised the efforts of the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and his team for their dedication to eradicating Naxal influence. From January, Chhattisgarh’s security forces have killed 194 Naxals, arrested 801, and seen 742 surrender.

Details of the Operation

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai explained that the operation involved around 1,000 soldiers who surrounded the Gawadi mountain, eliminating 31 Naxals, including 16 with bounties totaling Rs1.30 crore. The operation was meticulously planned by the state police and intelligence agencies.

Development Efforts

The Chief Minister emphasized the increased pace of development in Naxal-affected areas, focusing on education, health, and women’s empowerment. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, 32 new camps have been established in hardcore Naxal areas.

Future Plans

The government aims to eliminate remaining Naxal strongholds and ensure lasting peace. Plans include establishing 29 new security camps in South Bastar. Amit Shah urged other states to adopt Chhattisgarh’s intelligence technology and assured continued support for development projects.
