Egypt Supports Macron’s Call to Stop Arms Exports to Israel

Cairo, Egypt – On Sunday, Egypt expressed its support for French President Emmanuel Macron’s appeal to halt the export of arms to Israel, which are intended for use in Gaza. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry highlighted the serious violations of international law and humanitarian law by the Israeli military in Gaza and Lebanon, resulting in numerous civilian casualties, including women and children.

In a statement, Egypt urged the international community to heed Macron’s call and emphasized the need for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in both Gaza and Lebanon. The ministry also appreciated France’s supportive stance on Palestinian rights and the establishment of an independent State of Palestine along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions.
