KC Venugopal Predicts Congress Success in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana

In Alappuzha, Kerala, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal expressed confidence that the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana have rejected the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ideology. He stated that Congress is set to form the government in Haryana, while an alliance between the National Conference (NC) and Congress will lead in Jammu and Kashmir.

Venugopal emphasized that the political landscape in northern India is shifting in favor of Congress, predicting a significant victory in Haryana. He asserted that the BJP will not hold power in these regions.

Harish Rawat’s Perspective

Congress leader Harish Rawat echoed Venugopal’s sentiments, highlighting that voters in Jammu and Kashmir have chosen peace and development through the NC-Congress alliance. He also mentioned that Haryana’s citizens are ready to respond to the BJP’s past actions, expecting Congress to secure a majority.

Haryana Chief Minister’s Confidence

In contrast, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressed confidence in the BJP’s ability to form a government independently, stating that they have all necessary arrangements in place. He mentioned that while an alliance is not needed, it could be considered if required.

Exit Poll Predictions

Exit polls suggest a strong performance for Congress in Haryana, with predictions of winning over 50 out of 90 seats. In Jammu and Kashmir, the Axis My India poll forecasts a close contest, with the NC-Congress alliance slightly ahead of the BJP. The majority mark in Jammu and Kashmir is 46 seats, and no party is predicted to surpass this threshold.

The elections in Haryana concluded with a 65.65% voter turnout, while Jammu and Kashmir’s elections were held in three phases. Results for both states will be announced on October 8.
