NTA Faces Criticism Over NEET Exam Issues; Director General Removed

The National Testing Agency (NTA) faced significant criticism for irregularities in the NEET UG exam, including paper leaks and improper grace marks. The Education Ministry admitted shortcomings, and the Director General of NTA, Subodh Kumar Singh, was removed from his position.

Initially, grace marks were given to 1564 candidates due to a loss of exam time, but these marks were later withdrawn. This led to a retest for 1563 candidates, of which only 813 appeared. The Centre has now handed over the investigation of the paper leak to the CBI.

The UGC-NET exam was also canceled due to concerns about its integrity. The Union Health Ministry postponed the NEET-PG entrance exam as a precautionary measure.
