In Jhajjar, Haryana, double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker has called on young people to participate in the ongoing Haryana Assembly Polls. Bhaker, who recently won two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics in the 10 M Air Pistol Mixed Team and women’s individual events, shared her message on her official X handle. She emphasized the importance of voting, stating, “GOT INKED! As a responsible citizen, I proudly cast my vote in the Haryana Assembly Elections this morning. I urge all young voters to step out and vote in large numbers. Your vote matters.”

Voting for the 90 assembly seats in Haryana began on Saturday, with a voter turnout of 22.70 percent by 11 AM, according to the Election Commission of India. By 1 PM, the turnout had increased to 36.69 percent. Mewat recorded the highest turnout at 42.64 percent, while Panchkula had the lowest at 25.89 percent.

This election is crucial as the BJP seeks a third consecutive term, while the Congress aims to regain power amidst issues like farmer and wrestler protests. Key parties include the BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and alliances like INLD-BSP and JJP-ASP. Haryana’s Chief Electoral Officer, Pankaj Agarwal, reported that over 2 million voters are expected to participate, with 1,031 candidates contesting across 90 constituencies.
