S Jaishankar Visits BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi

On June 23, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar visited the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He described the temple as a true cultural bridge between India and the UAE. Jaishankar shared pictures of his visit on social media, expressing his blessings and highlighting the temple as a symbol of India-UAE friendship that radiates a positive message to the world.

Jaishankar is on an official visit to the UAE, where he will meet with his UAE counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to discuss various partnership issues. The visit aims to review the comprehensive strategic partnerships between India and the UAE, as well as regional and global developments.

The BAPS Hindu Mandir, inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on February 14, is the first traditional Hindu stone temple in the Middle East. It stands as a testament to the enduring friendship between India and the UAE, promoting cultural inclusivity, interfaith harmony, and community collaboration.

Before visiting the UAE, Jaishankar visited Sri Lanka, where he met with Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena on June 20. This was his first bilateral visit as External Affairs Minister after his re-appointment. His visit to Colombo followed Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s recent visit to India for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony on June 9.
