In a significant operation, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker and former Chief Minister Raman Singh hailed the encounter of 31 Naxalites in the Maad area on the Narayanpur-Dantewada border as a ‘huge success’. He credited the vision of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the efforts of the double-engine government for this achievement.

Raman Singh expressed his congratulations to the Chief Minister, Home Minister, and the entire team involved in the operation. He emphasized the importance of Amit Shah’s vision in achieving this success.

The operation was a joint effort by the DRG Dantewada and STF Narayanpur teams, resulting in the recovery of 31 Naxalite bodies. Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma described it as the biggest security operation in the state’s history.

Chhattisgarh Minister Ramvichar Netam also praised the security personnel, highlighting the government’s commitment to eliminating Naxalism from the state by 2026. He acknowledged the leadership of CM Vishnu Deo Sai in these efforts.

The operation was initiated after receiving intelligence about a meeting of top Naxal leaders at the Narayanpur-Dantewada border. The police reported an intense exchange of fire, leading to the recovery of a large number of arms and ammunition. Narayanpur SP Prabhat Kumar noted the challenging geographical conditions of the encounter site and mentioned that one jawan was injured but is in stable condition.
