This event is part of a series of Padayatras he has been conducting for the past one and a half months. Sisodia noted that public enthusiasm has been growing steadily, with people expressing their eagerness for his return to public service after his time in jail.

Reconnecting with the Public

During the Padayatra, Sisodia interacted with locals, emphasizing the importance of reconnecting with the community. He began these Padayatras in August, following his release after 17 months of imprisonment.

Background on Sisodia’s Arrest

In February 2023, Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) due to alleged irregularities in the creation and implementation of Delhi’s now-cancelled new excise policy. The CBI accused him of playing a significant role in the criminal conspiracy related to the policy.

Upcoming Elections

Delhi is gearing up for assembly elections expected in early 2025. In the 2020 elections, AAP won 62 out of 70 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured eight seats. The Congress party did not win any seats.
