In a joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police successfully recovered a packet of suspected heroin weighing 550 grams from a farming field near Daoke village in Amritsar district. The operation was based on specific intelligence received by the BSF Intelligence wing. The narcotics packet was wrapped in yellow and blue adhesive tape, with a steel ring and mini torch attached.

International Drug Syndicate Busted

In a separate operation, SAS Nagar Police dismantled an international drug syndicate, arresting Sukhdeep Singh and Krishan. The raid led to the seizure of 1.5 kg of heroin and revealed connections to Afghan handlers in Delhi. Sukhdeep Singh, previously involved in a kidnapping case, was out on bail since May 2024. This operation disrupted global narcotic supply chains, significantly impacting international drug cartels.

The Punjab Police emphasized their commitment to making the state drug-free, while the BSF continues to enhance its surveillance and operational capabilities to combat drug trafficking across the border.
