Indian Cricket Stars Cheer for Women in Blue
Star Indian cricketers KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Shubman Gill have extended their best wishes to the Indian women’s cricket team as they begin their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup campaign. The tournament started on Thursday, and India will face New Zealand in their opening match on Friday.
India’s Journey in T20 World Cup
The Indian women’s team has yet to win a 50-over or 20-over World Cup. Their best performance in the T20 World Cup was as runners-up to Australia in 2020. In the last edition, India reached the semifinals but lost to Australia by five runs.

Leading up to the World Cup, India had mixed results. They lost series against Australia and England but secured consecutive wins against Bangladesh. Their series against South Africa ended in a draw, and they lost the Asia Cup final to Sri Lanka.
