On Thursday, Chief Minister Manik Saha took part in the bhoomi pujan ceremony for the Ekta Mall in Hapania, Tripura. Chief Minister Saha expressed his belief that the complex will play a significant role in the future. He stated, “The ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ has taken place today. Unity Mall: A Dream Project

The Unity Mall initiative, introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the last budget, aims to redefine India’s economic and cultural landscape. The project focuses on national integration, supporting the ‘Make in India’ movement, and strengthening the ‘One District One Product’ initiative.

With a budget of INR 5,000 crore, each state is set to receive a minimum incentive of INR 100 crore to build these malls. So far, 27 states have submitted their Detailed Project Reports, and 13 states have received funding from the Department of Expenditure. The Ekta Malls are expected to enhance the relationship between artisans and consumers, promoting local craftsmanship and preserving cultural heritage.
