New Delhi [India], September 30: BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal has questioned the timing of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi’s commitment to repair roads in the national capital, suggesting that these promises are politically motivated ahead of the Assembly elections.

Khandelwal claimed that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has not undertaken any development work in the last 10 years. He criticized the party for being absent during water shortages and sewer problems in Delhi. He accused Atishi and her ministers of making false promises to gain votes.

Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi also expressed concerns about the condition of roads. She wrote to the MCD commissioner asking for the status of road maintenance and announced a new night shift for cleaning in Chandni Chowk.

Last week, Delhi CM Atishi, along with other AAP leaders, inspected the roads and announced that various ministers have been assigned responsibility for different areas. Atishi will oversee South and South East Delhi, while other ministers will manage other regions. Former CM Arvind Kejriwal also inspected roads and urged immediate repairs.

Atishi promised that all roads would be restored within three to four months, aiming for pothole-free roads by Diwali. She blamed the opposition for hindering their work but assured that they would proceed under Kejriwal’s guidance.
