PTI Plans Big Protest in Rawalpindi Led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Ali Amin Gandapur
Islamabad, Pakistan – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party is organizing a major protest at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi today. The protest will be led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who will address PTI workers at Swabi Interchange. Supporters from all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will join and later converge at Liaquat Bagh.
Security Measures
Extensive security measures have been implemented, including the suspension of metro bus services and the placement of containers on roads leading to Liaquat Bagh. Police and security forces have been deployed in large numbers to maintain order. Several key routes, including the motorway M-1 and GT Road, have been blocked at various points such as Attock Bridge, Fateh Jang, and Wah Garden.
Road Closures
Many roads in Rawalpindi have been blocked, including Faizabad, Mandra, Chakwal Mor, T-Chowk, 26 Number Chungi, and GT Road. Additional closures include Park Road, Kalma Chowk, Dhok Syedan Road, Tench Bata, Mandi Mor, and Fourth Avenue.
Section 144 Imposed
The Punjab government has imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi, banning all types of gatherings, rallies, protests, and weapon displays on September 28 and 29. Similar restrictions have been placed in Attock, Jhelum, and Chakwal districts.
