Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir), September 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed strong confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form its first government with a full majority in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking at a rally in Jammu, PM Modi highlighted the enthusiasm for BJP in regions like Jammu, Kathua, and Samba.

He mentioned that the election results will be announced on October 8, and the festival of Vijayadashmi on October 12 will mark a new beginning. PM Modi also criticized the Congress for opposing the 2016 surgical strike against Pakistan and demanding proof for it. He emphasized that the BJP government responded firmly to threats, unlike the Congress, which he accused of waving white flags during conflicts.

PM Modi reminded the audience of the surgical strike carried out on the night of September 28, 2016, and criticized Congress for questioning the army’s actions. He also mentioned the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme implemented by the BJP government, which had been delayed by Congress for decades.

The Prime Minister noted the enthusiasm for BJP across Jammu and Kashmir and criticized the Congress, National Conference, and PDP for causing trouble in the region. He assured that the BJP government would bring peace, prosperity, and a bright future for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

PM Modi urged the people to seize the opportunity to form a government that would address their pain and end decades of discrimination against the Jammu region. The elections are being held in three phases, with the final phase scheduled for October 1 and vote counting on October 8. These are the first Assembly elections in the Union Territory since the abrogation of Article 370.
