England all-rounder Liam Livingstone tied with legendary cricketer Andrew Flintoff for the most sixes in an ODI innings at Lord’s. Livingstone achieved this during the fourth ODI against Australia, scoring 62* off just 27 balls. His explosive innings included three fours and seven sixes, with a strike rate of 229.63.

Livingstone’s remarkable performance came in the final over of the rain-hit game, where he hit Australia’s premier pacer Mitchell Starc for four sixes and a four, totaling 28 runs in that over. This feat ties him with Flintoff, who hit seven sixes and eight fours in his 123-run innings against West Indies in 2004.

England’s innings saw a total of 12 sixes, the most by any team in an ODI at Lord’s. Their score of 312 is also the highest against Australia at this venue. The match began with Australia winning the toss and opting to field. England’s openers Phil Salt and Ben Duckett provided a solid start with a 48-run partnership. Skipper Harry Brook then formed crucial partnerships with Duckett and Jamie Smith, scoring 87 runs off 58 balls.

Livingstone’s late blitz helped England post 312/5 in their 39 overs. Adam Zampa was the pick of the Australian bowlers with 2/66. In response, Australia started well with a 68-run opening stand between Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh. However, they collapsed to 126 all out in 24.4 overs, thanks to brilliant bowling from Matthew Potts (4/38) and Brydon Carse (3/36).

England won the match by 186 runs, leveling the five-match series 2-2. Harry Brook was named ‘Player of the Match’ for his outstanding 87-run innings.
