Union Minister Chirag Paswan Condemns Attack on Bihar Students in West Bengal
Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan expressed his dismay over the brutal assault on students from Bihar in West Bengal, calling it a ‘shameful incident.’ He highlighted the issue during a meeting about schemes in Bihar and emphasized the constitutional right of Indians to seek education and employment anywhere in the country.
Paswan criticized former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav for remaining silent on the issue and praised the local administration for taking prompt action. He mentioned that the Chief Minister is personally monitoring the situation and hopes for justice for the affected students.
RJD MP Misa Bharti stated that RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav took cognizance of the incident and communicated with the local authorities. She stressed that such incidents should not occur anywhere.
Earlier, the Bagdogra police under Siliguri Police Commemorate arrested two individuals, Rajat Bhattacharya and Giridhari Roy, for allegedly threatening and harassing two young men from Bihar who came to Siliguri for an exam. The incident gained widespread condemnation after a video of the harassment went viral on social media. The police are continuing their investigation.
