The Embassy of India in Beirut has issued a strong advisory against traveling to Lebanon due to recent air strikes and blasts. Indian nationals in Lebanon are urged to leave immediately and stay in contact with the embassy.

Advisory Details:

In a notice issued on Wednesday, the embassy reiterated its earlier advisory from August 1, 2024, urging Indian nationals to avoid traveling to Lebanon. The embassy emphasized the need for extreme caution and advised those who must stay to restrict their movements and remain in contact with the embassy via email at cons.beirut@mea.gov.in or the emergency phone number +96176860128.

Recent Developments:

On September 24, the Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed that Israel’s recent military strikes on Lebanon have resulted in at least 558 fatalities, including 50 children. Additionally, 1,835 people have been injured. The strikes targeted Hezbollah positions, with the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) hitting over 1,600 targets in southern Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley. Hezbollah responded by firing rockets at various locations in Israel, leading to injuries among Israelis.
