Chhatarpur MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar Disqualified from Delhi Assembly

Chhatarpur MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar has lost his membership in the Delhi assembly. Speaker Ram Niwas Goel disqualified Tanwar under the anti-defection law. According to the order, Tanwar’s assembly membership was terminated from July 10.

Tanwar was elected from the Chattarpur constituency on an AAP ticket in the 2020 assembly elections. In July, he left AAP and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh and Delhi party President Virendra Sachdeva at the party headquarters in New Delhi. He joined the BJP along with former Delhi social welfare minister and AAP MLA Raaj Kumar Anand.

Raaj Kumar Anand criticized AAP Chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying that his requests to work towards the welfare of Dalits were denied.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi’s Emphasis on Teamwork

After taking charge as Chief Minister of Delhi, Atishi held a meeting with cabinet ministers and department heads to emphasize a collaborative approach. She stressed the importance of ensuring that government facilities reach all citizens effectively. Atishi said that this focus on teamwork aims to enhance service delivery and improve the overall quality of life for residents in the capital.

Cabinet ministers including Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Imran Hussain, and Mukesh Ahlawat were present, along with Chief Secretary Dharmendra and all department heads of the government. Chief Minister Atishi stated, “The Delhi government and the officials stationed in Delhi are fully accountable to the people. We all rely on the taxes paid by the people of Delhi, so it is our responsibility to work towards providing them with the best possible services and to fulfil our responsibilities with complete integrity.”
