Bengaluru, Karnataka, India – On Tuesday, BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar called for the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Chandrasekhar accused Siddaramaiah of continuing a tradition of corruption within the Congress party, led by Rahul Gandhi, by making false promises and enriching themselves and their families after coming into power.

This demand followed the Karnataka High Court’s dismissal of Siddaramaiah’s plea challenging Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot’s order for prosecution in the alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam. Chandrasekhar stated that Siddaramaiah’s resignation would allow for a fair and independent investigation into the corruption allegations.

Chandrasekhar criticized the Congress party, claiming that no Congress leader in Karnataka is free from involvement in land scams. He emphasized that the MUDA case is a clear example of how Siddaramaiah misused his office for personal gain. The High Court’s judgment has paved the way for an investigation into this alleged crime.

In response, Siddaramaiah accused the BJP and JDS of engaging in political retaliation against him due to his pro-poor initiatives. He expressed confidence in overcoming these challenges with the support of the people of Karnataka.

The Karnataka High Court dismissed Siddaramaiah’s petition, stating that the Governor’s order for prosecution did not suffer from non-application of mind. The case involves the alleged illegal allotment of 14 sites to Siddaramaiah’s wife in Mysuru city.
