Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh – Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.) has taken a significant step by adopting two tuberculosis patients from Kra Daadi District as part of the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMBA). During his first visit to the district, he met with one of the patients in Tali and committed to providing monthly food baskets to support their health.

Governor’s Appeal and Initiatives

The Governor encouraged the public, especially affluent individuals and social activists, to adopt TB patients and help make India tuberculosis-free by 2025, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also urged health officials to conduct awareness campaigns and educate TB patients on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Developmental Review and Community Engagement

Governor Parnaik reviewed various developmental programs in Tali, which is 90 km from the district headquarters, Palin. He visited Pipsorang and Tali, marking the first-ever visit by a state governor to these remote areas. Accompanied by State Minister Balo Raja and local MLA Jikke Tako, he engaged with villagers and discussed the Vibrant Village Programme aimed at fostering socio-economic development in border areas.

Focus on Health, Education, Infrastructure, and Tourism

The Governor emphasized the importance of strengthening health, education, infrastructure, and tourism sectors. He highlighted the need for basic medical specialists in district hospitals and the availability of essential medicines. He also stressed the importance of addressing school drop-outs and providing libraries to encourage reading among students.

Governor Parnaik suggested using drones to deliver medicines in remote areas and advocated for the Bhutanese Model of Tourism to boost local entrepreneurship. He emphasized the use of technology and automation for better planning and execution of projects, aiming for a paperless office environment.

Officials’ Briefing and Future Plans

Deputy Commissioner Sunny Singh and other department heads briefed the Governor on the district’s developmental progress and challenges. The Governor reiterated the need for officials to actively engage with the community and ensure the successful implementation of various government schemes.
