General Anil Chauhan Launches First ‘Future Warfare’ Course in New Delhi

A new ‘Future Warfare’ course, initiated by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, will be held in New Delhi from September 23-27, 2024. This course aims to educate officers from Major Generals to Majors on modern warfare’s operational and technological aspects.

The course will cover key areas related to future warfare, including contact, non-contact, kinetic, non-kinetic, psychological, and informational warfare. It will also explore the domains where future wars will be fought, such as cyberspace, space, and the electromagnetic spectrum.

Additionally, the course will discuss the impact of emerging and disruptive technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, robotics, and hypersonics on the conduct of warfare. The goal is to prepare officers to navigate the complex landscape of modern warfare, leveraging new technologies and adapting to innovative tactics.

The course has been curated by Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff with the help of veteran and serving subject matter experts. Future courses will build upon this curriculum and aim to make the Indian Armed Forces ‘future ready.’
