Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Indian diaspora at a major event hosted at the Nassau Coliseum in New York, Long Island. The excitement is palpable as people began queuing up five hours before the event. Artists from various groups are playing traditional music to welcome the Prime Minister.

PM Modi is set to address the ‘Modi and US’ program around noon local time in New York. Members of the Indian community were seen practicing their dance routines in preparation for the big show.

One member of the Dhol-Tasha group expressed, ‘We are very excited that PM Modi is coming here. We are from India but live here. We play Dhol-Tasha to keep alive the roots of India. We are excited to play this in front of the Prime Minister.’

Another member added, ‘We usually don’t get the opportunity to see him, but I am looking forward to seeing him, from a distance at least. We try to pass on this folk music from Maharashtra to the next generation by keeping the culture alive.’

A member of the Indian Diaspora stated, ‘I am impressed by his work for the disadvantaged communities of the remote villages, where he provides all the basic needs, education, and financial help.’

Earlier, PM Modi arrived in New York on the second leg of his 3-day visit to the USA. He will address the UN Summit of the Future, interact with the community, and attend a CEO Roundtable. The Prime Minister will also chair some key bilateral meetings in New York during the visit.

On Saturday, PM Modi attended the sixth edition of the Quad Leaders’ Summit in US President Joe Biden’s hometown of Wilmington, Delaware. President Biden hosted Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for the Quad Leaders’ Summit. Quad is a diplomatic partnership between Australia, India, Japan, and the United States.
