Pawan Kalyan Begins 11-Day Fast Over Tirupati Temple Controversy

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has started an 11-day penance ritual at Sri Dasavatara Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Guntur. He alleges that the previous YSRCP government altered the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams board for political gain and used animal fat in the temple’s Laddu Prasadam.

Kalyan claims that the Sri Venkateswara Trust was established under YSRCP’s rule, leading to various scams and changes in worship protocols. He also alleges that over 300 temples were desecrated during this period.

He further stated that Ayodhya received contaminated laddus from TTD during the YSRCP regime and questioned whether authorities are following protocols in all temples. Kalyan emphasized that Hindu devotees must speak out against these actions and that the guilty must face punishment.

As part of his penance, Kalyan announced on X that he will fast for 11 days to seek forgiveness from Lord Venkateswara. He plans to visit Tirupati for a personal darshan of the Lord on October 1 and 2 to complete his Atonement Initiation.

The controversy began after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu claimed that substandard ingredients, including animal fat, were used in the preparation of Tirupati laddus during the previous YSRCP government.
