Akash Anand Confident in BSP-INLD Alliance for Haryana Elections
Kaithal (Haryana) [India], September 21: As the Haryana assembly polls approach next month, Akash Anand, the national coordinator of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), expressed confidence that the alliance between BSP and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) will form the next government in Haryana.
Akash Anand criticized both the Congress and BJP, accusing them of being against reservation policies. He stated, “We are getting good responses wherever we go. We are confident that the BSP-INLD alliance will form the government in Haryana. Congress has harmed people the most on the issue of reservation and has betrayed our people. BJP is also against reservation. Both these parties are a danger for reservations.”
The BSP and INLD are jointly contesting the upcoming Haryana elections. Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini criticized former Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Saini claimed that in his 56-day tenure, he has made 126 historic decisions for Haryana’s development, which he believes outweigh Hooda’s 10-year tenure.
On September 20, Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal announced that the Election Commission of India, along with the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, has implemented special measures to increase voter turnout in the 15th Haryana Legislative Assembly General Election on October 5. Various activities like slogan writing, painting, street plays, and poster making are being used to encourage voters to cast their votes.
Agarwal also mentioned that the voters of Haryana are politically aware, with consistently higher voting percentages in both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections compared to other states. Voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5, and votes will be counted on October 8, along with those in Jammu and Kashmir.
In the 2019 elections, BJP emerged as the single-largest party with 40 seats, while Congress won 30 seats.
