Zahid Baloch and Muddasir: Forced Disappearances in Balochistan

In Lasbela, Pakistan, Zahid Baloch, a shopkeeper, was forcibly taken from his home by Pakistani forces. Zahid, who lived in Lasbela to support his family, has left his loved ones devastated and pleading for his release. This incident is part of a disturbing pattern of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, a region under military oppression for years.

According to reports, Zahid’s family is calling for his safe return and raising concerns about the lack of accountability within the Pakistani administration. A family member said, “We don’t know where he has been taken or why. We just want him back safe.”

In another case, 16-year-old Muddasir from Turbat was also abducted by Pakistani forces. Muddasir, the younger brother of a Kech Bar Association lawyer, was taken without explanation, leaving his family and legal advocates outraged. The Kech Bar Association condemned the illegal detention and announced a boycott of court proceedings to demand his release.

The ongoing military oppression in Balochistan has led to numerous families waiting for their missing loved ones. Despite protests and international attention, the Pakistani administration continues to ignore the cries for justice.
