Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to begin his much-anticipated visit to the United States on Saturday, September 21. The Indian community in the US is eagerly awaiting his arrival, calling it a ‘proud moment’ for Indians.

Key Events During the Visit

PM Modi’s three-day visit will include high-level meetings with global leaders, participation in the annual Quad summit, and key discussions at the United Nations. He will attend the Quad (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue) Leaders’ Summit and the Summit of the Future (SOTF) at the United Nations in New York. Additionally, he will hold important bilateral meetings.

Indian Diaspora’s Excitement

Mohammad Zaid, an Indian student in the US, expressed his excitement, saying, ‘America is like a superpower. The Indian Prime Minister is coming, and it’s a proud moment for all the Indians living here. I am very excited and looking forward to it.’

Nagendra, another Indian living in Boston, traveled to New York to attend PM Modi’s event with the diaspora. ‘I come all the way from Boston to attend PM Modi’s event with the diaspora. I am happy to be here,’ he said.

Community Event

Over 24,000 Indian-Americans have registered to attend PM Modi’s community event on September 22 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island, which has a seating capacity of 15,000. The event, titled ‘Modi & US: Progress Together,’ will celebrate the diversity and success of the Indian-American community, featuring cultural performances and appearances by prominent Indian-American figures.

Summit of the Future

One of the key events during PM Modi’s visit will be the ‘Summit of the Future,’ scheduled for September 23 at the United Nations. This high-level event aims to bring world leaders together to create a new international consensus on delivering a better present and safeguarding the future. The theme of the summit is ‘Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow.’ UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called it a ‘once in a generation UN Summit.’
