55-Year-Old Woman Alleges Rape by Man She Met at Sai Baba Mandir
A 55-year-old woman has filed a complaint against a 35-year-old man named Sunil, accusing him of rape. The woman, who lives in Laxmi Bai Nagar, first met Sunil on January 1 at Sai Baba Mandir on Lodhi Road. Sunil, who claimed to be a driver at the CGO Complex, asked for her help in finding a flat in Delhi. They exchanged phone numbers and stayed in touch.
On June 20, Sunil invited her to Safdarjung, where he allegedly offered her a drink. After consuming the drink, she became unconscious. Sunil then took her to the Gold Leaf Hotel and allegedly sexually assaulted her. The police registered a case under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Safdarjung Enclave Police Station on September 30. The investigation is ongoing.
