In a significant operation, 31 bodies of Naxalites have been discovered during a joint mission by the District Reserve Guard (DRG) of Dantewada and the Special Task Force (STF) of Narayanpur. This operation took place in the Maad area, located on the border between Narayanpur and Dantewada in Chhattisgarh, India.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and DRG sent additional forces to support the security personnel already engaged in the operation. One member of the DRG was injured but is reported to be out of danger.

Officials have reported the recovery of a large cache of automatic weapons from the site, including LMG Rifles, AK 47 Rifles, SLR Rifles, INSAS Rifles, and Calibre .303 Rifles.

Inspector General of Bastar, P Sundarraj, confirmed the recovery of the bodies and the ongoing search operation. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been in contact with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai regarding the encounter.

The clash occurred in the Abhujmaad forest, following a police search operation based on intelligence about Naxalite presence in the area. Further updates are awaited.
