27-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Gang-Raped in Bhopal by Two Men
A 27-year-old woman in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, was allegedly gang-raped by two men after being given intoxicants, according to police reports. The incident took place on August 3 under the jurisdiction of Bazaria police station.
Details of the Incident
One of the accused, Rishi Kushwaha, was known to the victim. They had been friends and were planning to get married until Kushwaha discovered that the woman was a divorcee, leading to their separation. The woman, who worked as a laborer, met Kushwaha again on August 3. He lured her to his room in the Bazaria locality.
According to Bazaria police station in-charge Jitendra Gurjar, the accused served the woman intoxicants in water, causing her to lose consciousness. Both Kushwaha and his friend then allegedly raped her.
Police Action
The victim filed a complaint, and a case has been registered under sections 64, 70(1), 351(3), and 3(5) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The accused are currently absconding, and police efforts to apprehend them are ongoing. Local police teams have raided several hideouts based on informant tips but have yet to locate the suspects. Their mobile tower locations suggest they may be in another state, and police teams are being dispatched to capture them.
