Tragic Blast at Pharma Company in Anakapalli, Andhra Pradesh
On Wednesday, a devastating reactor blast occurred at a pharma company in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Atchutapuram, Anakapalli, Andhra Pradesh. The explosion resulted in the deaths of at least 14 people and left several others with burn injuries.
Details of the Incident
The blast happened when a 500-kilo-litre capacitor reactor exploded while around 200 workers were still on duty. Anakapalli District Collector Vijaya Krishnan confirmed the fatalities and mentioned that the number of casualties might increase.
Rescue Operations
Anakapalli SP M Deepika stated that rescue operations are currently underway, with a team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) coordinating the efforts.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident and is expected to visit the families of the deceased and injured on Thursday.
