Aryan Mishra, a 12th-grade student, was tragically shot and killed by cow vigilantes in Faridabad, Haryana, on August 23. The police have arrested five individuals in connection with the incident.

Incident Details

The police reported that Aryan was traveling with his friends when the accused mistook their car for one involved in cow smuggling. The accused chased the car for about 25 kilometers and fired multiple shots, one of which hit Aryan in the chest. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Aryan succumbed to his injuries the next day.

Arrests and Investigation

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Crime, Faridabad, Aman Yadav, stated that an FIR was lodged, and five individuals—Anil Kaushik, Varun, Krishna, Adesh, and Saurav—were arrested. The police have recovered the vehicle and weapon used in the crime. The accused and the deceased were not familiar with each other, and the crime was committed out of suspicion.

Family’s Reaction

Aryan’s father, Siyanand Mishra, expressed deep distress and criticized the authorities for not addressing the root cause of such violence. He questioned who gave the right to shoot someone on mere suspicion of cow smuggling.
