12-Year-Old Arav Bhardwaj’s 1200-Km Cycling Journey to Honor Kargil Heroes

Arav Bhardwaj, a 12-year-old boy from Haryana, has embarked on a 1200-km cycling journey to pay homage to the Kargil Martyrs. Starting from the Kargil War Memorial in Leh on July 27, 2024, his journey will conclude at the National War Memorial in New Delhi on Thursday.

Special DGP Arpit Shukla, the Special Director General of Police for Law and Order, praised Arav’s patriotic spirit. He presented Arav with a Punjab Police memento and a poster with the message “Say No To Drugs, Say Yes To Punjab” to promote an anti-drug message.

During his journey, Arav paid tributes at various war memorials, including Zojila, Badami Bagh, and the Punjab State War Memorial. Accompanied by his father, Arav’s 13-day expedition spans Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Chandigarh, and Haryana.

Arav, an 8th-grade student at Heritage School in New Delhi, previously undertook a 32-day, 2612-km journey from the INA War Memorial in Moirang, Manipur, to the National War Memorial in New Delhi. This journey was to commemorate the 125th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in 2022.
