11-Year-Old Girl Injured by Wolf in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh
An 11-year-old girl was attacked by a wolf in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday night. She is currently receiving treatment at the local government hospital in Mahasi.
The incident has heightened fear among the local residents. Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh Forest Department captured the fifth wolf responsible for several attacks on villagers, but one wolf remains elusive.
The Forest Department has initiated ‘Operation Bhediya’ to capture the pack of wolves responsible for attacks in 25-30 villages in the Bahraich range. They have installed snap cameras in probable wolf habitats to monitor their movements. Three cameras have been placed in Sikandarpur village around six caves, believed to be the wolves’ habitat.
So far, 9 people have been killed and more than 40 injured due to the wolf attacks in various villages of Bahraich.
