In Tripura, India, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Tripura Police arrested 11 Bangladeshi nationals and an Indian tout in four separate operations. They seized Yaba tablets worth Rs 70 lakh.

Details of the Arrests

On the night of August 6 and 7, 2024, based on specific information from the BSF, a joint operation was conducted in Gajaria, West Tripura. Eight Bangladeshi nationals, including one female tout, were arrested near Jama Masjid, Muslim Para, Gajaria. They were planning to enter Bangladesh.

In another operation, three Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended at a Mobile Check Post in Amtali by BSF troops and a PS Amtali team.

Seizures

In a third incident, 10,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs 50 lakh were recovered from a motorcycle in the BOP area by BSF troops and a PS Kalamchoura team in Sepahijela District.

In a fourth case, 9,500 cigarette packets worth Rs 20 lakh were recovered from a rubber bagan near Krishna Nagar by BSF troops and a PS Srinagar team.

The BSF, with the active assistance of Tripura Police and other agencies, has intensified its efforts to prevent infiltration and trans-border crime.
